Pacific Breeze, the newest Seabus, plows the waters of Burrard Inlet daily, moving thousands of passengers between North Vancouver and the downtown core. Brenco ran 24/7 on its 8’X40′ waterjet table to cut 170,000 lbs of sheet and plate aluminum for the hull and superstructure components. Although more expensive than plasma cutting, waterjet does not create a heat affected zone (HAZ) which has to be removed before welding. This saved the builders hundreds of man hours of weld prep.
